Sunday, February 21: Lent 1

As a people travelling through life together, sharing the journey of faith through these weeks of Lent, we seek God’s presence in our lives. We recall those who have been a part of the covenant with God in the past: Noah and the hope in the rainbow; Abraham and Sarah on their journey to a new land and new beginnings; Moses and the struggle to find freedom out of slavery. Now we hear anew the promise of a new covenant—the promise of new life and wholeness for all. We tend to cling to the past; we are afraid to let go and open ourselves to new possibilities. Help us, Gracious God, to embrace your covenant and the promise it holds for one and all. In silence, we confess our personal needs to you, O God:

Essex Food Bank

Essex food Bank is in need of egg cartons. If you have any, please drop them off at the church.

While we are not able to worship together, please hold our church family in your prayers. We will be back soon. Susan is still in the office if you have any questions.

We have had a number of parishioners inquiring about how they could continue to support the church when we are not gathering on Sunday morning. We rely on the contributions of the church family to cover ministry costs, pay our staff and our bills. If you wish, your offering envelopes can be dropped off in the mailbox.

The 2021 Offering Envelopes are now available. Please call the church office 519-776-5121 for pickup.

Updating our email list: If you know anyone interested in receiving the Weekly Update, please let the church office know. Since we are not together right now, please let the church office know of any address changes, celebrations, etc.
